Community Online Classes – Do’s and Dont’s
- When you register for a class online, check to make sure that your computer meets the requirements for the system you will be using.
- When you enroll for your community online class, be sure to make that commitment to complete it! There is generally a waiting list for classes, so don’t use up a slot in the class if you can’t complete it. You’ll be preventing others from taking the class, and you may end up flunking the class.
- Organize yourself to work at a steady pace throughout the term. Start out strong, and keep up your effort. Make sure to involve yourself in any “participation” requirements, these are an important part of your grade.
- Communicate with your instructor if you get stuck on any issues – your teacher is there to help you out, make use of your opportunity for help.
- If you do need to drop the class, don’t forget to take care of withdrawing from the class. If you don’t withdraw from the class you will most likely get an “F”, which will harm your GPA.
- Follow up online to make sure that your assignments are received and graded. If you have any questions about your community online class let your teacher know as soon as possible.
