For any person the most important goals of life include a balanced life, financial security and personal fulfillment. Whether someone is at a higher position in a big corporation or working as a blue collar worker, these goals are worthy to pursue. However, until the goals are achieved all these have to be managed carefully. This is where career management comes into the picture.
How the Career Management Can Be Defined?
When set goals have to be achieved with specific objectives then the process is termed as carrier management. In the end all of these objectives result in achieving the targeted goals that help in having a good life.
But How to Do It?
First the bigger matters have to be considered like in next XX years what are the things that one wants to achieve. What will be the life after that many years? These have to be answered clearly and not vaguely. For the purpose of career management the goals must be clearly defined to be effective and realized. For example, the exact nature of the industry and the company one wants to work in, the area and color of their house or how the staff should perform or the office should look etc.
After defining these goals it has to be further subdivided into smaller achievable goals that have specific activities, policies and procedures defined clearly. At last an evaluation system has to be in place, where time has to be set to collect and analyze the progress.
When all the tasks have been completed it is time to actually do it. But while career management was easier on the paper, when it comes to the actual implementation most people fail. They are unable to find out the main problem behind it that is resulting in failure. For better success an accountability system should be in place.
