Is ed2go accredited?
One of the most common questions received on this site, “Is ed2go accredited?” The purpose of ed2go courses is to further your knowledge in the topics offered. Ed2go courses are not accredited, although they are taught at many colleges. If you take a class through ed2go, although it may be offered at a college, it will most likely not count toward your degree. The online course will help you to become prepared to take college courses, and may help you to meet a prerequisite, but you’d have to check with the individual college and teacher to find out if this course would allow you to take the regular accredited course. If the course outline said “some background information in this topic is required prior to enrollment” or something general along these lines, ed2go college courses would probably be helpful. Quite a few people are happy with ed2go when they need to hone their writing skills, or get general knowledge of a subject. If you are looking, for example, at the Sierra college ed2go program, and see a certificate program that you think would be useful in your advancement in your current job, you could check in advance with your personnel department to make sure this would be accepted. Some of the popular ed2go/cocc paralegal or ed2go California programs may help you to achieve a competitive edge for entry level jobs or job advancement in your current job. You may also be able to include ed2go courses as part of personal experience in a “Life Experience” course at a college such as St. Mary’s (Morage, CA) Management Business degree. The tip here: verify that the reason you’re taking an ed2go course will meet your requirements, ed2go courses are not accredited.
Do online college courses still require you to be present on campus?
Are you wondering if online community college courses will require you to attend any sessions on campus? This question needs to be answered by your local online community college on a class by class basis. Some distance learning classes will require you to attend an orientation, and possibly mid-terms and finals also. Others will be completely online. Most colleges that offer online community college classes will also offer an elective class to learn how to utilize online courses! You will study online to learn to take an online course. The course itself will take you through all the typical components of an online class, including how to register, how to contact the instructor, the method of completing your assignments, and how to schedule your time.
I like the question you raise about presence for online courses. It does make a lot of sense to me…
thanks for putting up this useful website. I have not completed my degree and want to do it but don’t have time. I want to find a online place where I can complete and get a degree qualification easily?
Oh, FYI, I’m from a former British colony so British degrees are the one’s most famous here. I did two years of a British degree in Computer Science about 3 years ago and I have only to do 1 more year to get a British degree. The thing is I’m unable to join a institute or afford a lot of money. Can you tell me whether there are any online place where I can gain exemtions for the two years I’ve done and gain a US or British degree?
